The ECOFORESTRY SITE symbol is the tree fern, an 'arc species'.
Tree ferns tend to survive forest fire. They provide a haven for tiny animal and plant life and act as a nursery for new forest growth. The tree fern develops in the forest but, challenged by fire, the forest develops in the tree fern.
We understand nature as we grow in it but, when challenged, we can help recreate it. Like the tree fern, the ECOFORESTRY SITE has a nursery function.
